My Intercept Experience | Sherry Rich | Artist & Musician
Sherry Rich and Rick Plant have both been in the music business for a long time. They both had successful individual careers then met in Nashville in the USA 10 years ago.
Now they are working and playing together with a collection of elements to their work. they have a number of bands, acts together and also other passions such as teaching music, writing, and running song writing workshops. They had started creating a different kind of music for children and families with THE MUDCAKES and were looking to expand on that brand.
Enter Intercept Same Page: The outcome was to gain clarity and a sense of vision and direction. To gather all their respective creative forces and energies and have them directed. To start a plan that really turned them on. Here's what they had to say of their experience of Same Page so far:
Sherry: "I was drawn to Intercept's positive vibe. Coaching in business was a term that was so foreign to me but I knew we needed help with a broader strategy for our business and decided to give it a shot.
It was more fun than I expected a 'business coaching' experience to be, although I found it bought up some emotional stuff....it was hard for me on the first day to really dig deep inside myself and be truthful about what I wanted from my music and how it connected with my life and my purpose but once I broke through that it was amazing.
It helped me to see options I would never have thought of by myself. For instance I have always been suspicious of francising but Same Page helped me to see the possibilities outside the box .... how we might individually tailor a franchise idea that would be a perfect fit for us and our ideals.
It has made me realise that a musician CAN successfully combine the words music and business....as in music business. We are also so much more organised and planning ahead is fun and challenging instead of a chore.
If I was going to give anyone some advice before they went into a Same Page event, I'd say 'be prepared for a fun, interesting, eye opening and sometimes emotional journey"'.
