Bartercard

Trevor Dietz, CEO of Bartercard Australia, gives his perspectives on his Intercept Experience. In this interview he describes the progress he attributes to Intercept and the Intercept Same Page Process....

"If you embrace this program fully, confront the issues exposed via the Intercept questionnaire, work with the coach at all times and importantly answer/confront the issues yourself rather than waiting for someone else to solve your problems then you will be amazed at the transformation in your own performance as well as be impressed about the positive impact that you will have on others".

The issue or objective with engaging Intercept was to
a) To get all the senior staff on the same page.
I was working in the future, three of the team were in the present and one was living in the past whereas we all needed to be working in the present

b) To get all senior managers on the program to confront their personal issues and get them more productive/effective

c) To ensure that I was able to remove my own mental obstacles

At the end of the one to one work with the Intercept Individual process, it became clear that we needed to conduct a “same page” 2 day retreat with the team so as to get everyone past their issues and allow everyone a chance to speak openly.

This was a great two days. We all got focused and clear headed about what we needed to do, how we were going to do it and why we were going to do it. It gave me the chance to clearly speak my mind on a variety of issues, will allow me now to be productive and be very clear on my goals.

As a result of this work, there have been very positive changes for all concerned. The whole Team knows what they have to do, when they have to do it and importantly the measures of success. There are now no places to hide.

We have started 2009 with such energy and focus. We are all on the one page and we have plans to make sure the whole organization is on the same page.

No one person is either living and working in the past or the future – we are all here in the present – focused, productive, energized.

Advice for anyone about to participate in Intercept work is that you only get out of this program what you are prepared to put into it.

If you embrace this program fully, confront the issues exposed via the Intercept questionnaire, work with the coach at all times and importantly answer/confront the issues yourself rather than waiting for someone else to solve your problems then you will be amazed at the transformation in your own performance as well as be impressed about the positive impact that you will have on others.
